The List

Yesterday, Mom and Dad scolded me for not updating my blog lately. "I don't really have anything to write about," I responded. "Life's been pretty un-eventful" It's true, I haven't been doing a whole lot since the week my cousin Jackie was here, but it is a blog..and blogs need to be updated.

We'll begin with the week Cuz Jackie came to visit..we had a good time that week, by the way...meandering the streets of Aix; attempting to do-as-the-French-do at restaurants by taking one bite every 2 conversation topics (however, we ended up doing-as-the-Americans-do by asking for a couple boxes for our leftovers); a trip to Paris and an interesting couch surfing experience; a night of gypsies; and our own personal walking-tour guide through the Latin Quarter, whom we acquired while simply..walking. Definitely one of the highlights of the week was the Carnaval celebration in Nice. Although it was a little chilly in the evening, most of the day was really nice in comparison to Aix, and the parade was probably the wierdest yet coolest parade I've ever seen. We returned to Aix late that night with postcards, posters, masks, hats, and hair full of silly string and confetti.

But then Monday morning came around, Jackie hopped on a plane back Stateside, and I continued on with ma vie en France, which looks a little bit like this:

Class, sleep, eat, crunches, eat again, crunches again, maybe a run if I feel like being stared at, facebook, dinner with a French DJ, Wohoo, IPN, dance until 4 am, Vitamin C, class again (maybe), sleep again, Desperate Housewives, eat again, free online movies, movie with a French DJ, travel planning, "Hi mom, I need more money" e-mails, "Hi mom, I accidentally booked a trip to Amsterdam" e-mails, receive angry e-mails from angry French ex-girlfriends, Skype, realize how attached French DJ's become, more facebook, American Idol, make up excuse to not see French DJ, scour Craigslist for 4 bedroom houses in Pacific Beach, class, watch The Bachelor, take a few tests, get A's on a few tests, =D, Wohoo, IPN, dance until 4 am, go to class like a zombie, sleep some more, VIP at big club with French DJ, decide I like French DJ again, more Vitamin C, eat a couple oranges, hot chocolate with Lindsay, draw doodles during an explanation of the future simple for the 100th time, complain about winter, learn how to say "bitch" in French, eat 3 scoops of peanut butter for lunch, try and figure out French text lingo, laugh, look for an excuse to eat my buffalo sauce, go see Shutter Island, debate the ending of Shutter Island for three days, watch the snow, trip to the France equivalent to Wal-Mart with the roomies, facebook, deal with annoying landlady, go to the bank, buy a baguette, eat the whole baguette, more crunches, watch a movie with the roomies, curse the French Subjonctive case, use the subjonctive in a sentence, feel proud of myself for that, read CNN news feed, dislike CNN newsfeed, wonder why there's a new earthquake report every two days, watch Jon Stewart instead, much better, charge my ipod, get free entrance to the gym with French DJ, realize I'm the only girl lifting weights at the gym, miss my camera, hang out with some mid-westerners, catch myself saying "Wiscaaaansin," watch Blind Side, go to CSU office, vacuum, oatmeal, facebook, class, sleep, eat, drink, run, aaaaand REPEAT.

And now I go pack for my "accidental" trip to Amsterdam. Stay tuned. The list gets longer.

Ciao!
